Asharqia Chamber presents you with its best greetings, and would like to inform you that it received a letter from the Council of Saudi Chambers (L / L / 1380) dated 13/5/1439. It referred to the letter from the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality organization No. (2662 / p) dated 16/4 / 1439H. It stated that because the role of the Authority revolves around consumer's protection and safety requirements in products, the Board of Directors of the Authority adopted the technical regulations for barriers to provide protection in trucks, trailers and half trailers, according to the program of product safety (which is one of the projects of the national transformation program). This technical regulation aims to control the import, manufacture and installation of front, and rear protection barriers for trucks, in addition to the registration of manufacturers of barriers and follow-up installation and inspection.
The Authority would like to confirm the application of this technical regulation. Therefore, all the workshops that are willing to be accredited in the installation of these barriers should register with the Authority to be part of the approved workshops. Also, it emphasized that the road transport companies must install these barriers on their trucks in the workshops registered with the Authority only.
